Former Director of the US CIA National Clandestine Service Michael Sulick named Senior Partner at Threat Pattern

NEW YORK—Threat Pattern, a company composed of former leaders from the United States intelligence community, announced today that Michael Sulick, former Director of the United States Central Intelligence Agency National Clandestine Service, has been named Senior Partner.

For over 30 years, Sulick coordinated espionage activities for the US intelligence community and managed global covert operations on terrorism, weapons proliferation, and regional and country-specific issues. He served as Chief of CIA counterintelligence, Chief of CIA Central Asia Division, and the senior CIA representative in Russia and Eastern Europe. Sulick also authored both Spying in America: Espionage from the Revolutionary War to the Dawn of the Cold War and American Spies: Espionage Against the United States from the Cold War to the Present.

“We live in a complex and unstable world—one in which companies must work diligently to protect their assets, reputation, and employees. Threat Pattern’s team has unparalleled experience in protecting the United States against a multitude of threats and now brings that experience to protect the world’s leading institutions and families. With a deep roster of former intelligence community professionals in its network, Threat Pattern’s analytic capabilities significantly differentiate it from other companies in the security space” said Sulick.

Co-founded in 2012 by Dr. Blake Mobley, author of Terrorism and Counterintelligence: How Terrorist Groups Elude Detection, Threat Pattern utilizes big data and proprietary analytical tools to create comprehensive security and intelligence partnerships with its clients. Threat Pattern partners with a diverse set of clients, with a particular focus on private equity, banks, insurance, real estate, and energy. “Any financial intermediary must now answer the question: what is your strategy for safeguarding client information and assets? The world has shifted so quickly that the survival of financial firms will depend on their ability to stay one step ahead of perpetually evolving threats” said David Sams, Vice Chairman of G2 Investment Group, former President of Sammons Enterprises, Inc., and former President of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company.

G2 Investment Group—a New York based investment management company that invests in assets of basic human need—provided seed capital to Threat Pattern in 2012. “The world has irrevocably changed and security is now a fundamental need for families, institutions and governments. Every day the world’s leading companies—from Sony to Twitter—are dealing with threats and attacks, many of which have had devastating consequences. Threat Pattern possesses the unique ability to aggressively defend companies and their leadership” said Trevor Neilson, President of G2 Investment Group, Co-Founder of Threat Pattern.
