Mel Chez is based in Minneapolis and is responsible for marketing and raising capital for G2-sponsored and third-party partnerships from institutions in the Central region of the U.S. and Central Canada. Prior to joining the Forbes Private Capital Group in 2010, he was a Managing Director in the Private Fund Group at Guggenheim Securities, LLC. Before joining Guggenheim in 2006, Mr. Chez was a Vice President at Legg Mason, working directly with pension consultants and raising assets from institutional investors. Prior to 1998, he worked at HSBC Asset Management (Americas) as Vice President of Institutional Sales. Mr. Chez graduated with a B.A. in Accounting from Gustavus Adolphus College, and earned an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.
