Tom Sullivan is a Managing Director and Co-heads the Forbes Private Capital Private Placement team in our San Francisco office. He joined Forbes in 2011 and brings over twenty years of investment banking experience in raising capital and investing in emerging growth private companies. Over the course of his career, Mr. Sullivan has raised over $12 billion in equity and debt capital for numerous clients in the technology, telecom/media, health care, energy, financial and business services and consumer sectors. Mr. Sullivan spent eleven years with Credit Suisse/DLJ as the senior representative on the west coast for the Private Placement Group. He also Co-headed the Private Placement Group at Piper Jaffray and Dain Bosworth (RBC). Mr. Sullivan began his investment banking career at Montgomery Securities in their venture capital arm in 1989. He gained a unique perspective on the needs of private companies as a Co-Founder of Pets Choice in 1996, a veterinary hospital consolidation with operations in four states that was ultimately sold to it’s publicly traded competitor, VCA-Antech. Mr. Sullivan earned his B.B.A. from the University of Michigan and his M.B.A. from the Darden School at The University of Virginia.
